Samuel Eddy | | Hi! I would like to introduce myself as Samuel Eddy-an event Manager.I started my company EMCom-The Event management Company in the year 1995 and today we are the no1 company in Chennai which is the gateway to South India. We specialise in what I call Corporate Recreation Services.We handle recreation for almost all the top IT companies here.We need to be very proactive and creative in what we do to retain our top position. I am always open to suggestions and ideas on how to do this.I expect support from all out here towards this end.
I am launching a new service for all my IT clients called CAMP TRAILS which is a mobile tented camping venture.We have ten seater vans which has a driver cum cook cum guide who takes these ten people to sites we have tied up with in and around Chennai.He pitches the tents and sets up the camp site where the guys can then spend the weekend.There are activities like trekking,rock climbing,cycling,boating and not forgetting the camp fires and Bar-b-ques in the night.
This really brings me to the crux. I have been attending camps from the age of six as my dad was YMCA General Secretary and I had access to these camps.These camps were instrumental in shaping what I am today.Unfortunately most people these days dont have the oppurtunity for such activities!! During these camps we learnt a lot of camp songs which were great fun and was part of the strong bonding developed at these camps around the camp fires.But unfortunately most of these songs are dying a natural death as there is no one doing camps here.
I would like to first document these songs and then bring out a CDs and cassettes of these songs .The song would first be sung by some profesional singer and then there would be a karoke version for people to sing along with the musical accompaniment. This project would cost about $20000 dollars.
If anyone is interested to partner me on this project either as a investor or as venture capitalist do get in touch with me and help preserve the great camp songs.I do not foresee a problem selling these cassettes and CDs in schools ,colleges and corporates as CAMPTRAILS would ensure this.I could name the CDs and cassettes after the person who invests in this!!
